Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries of the Republic of Indonesia (Kementerian Kelautan dan Perikanan Indonesi /KKP) targeting a number of indicators that Direktorat Jenderal Penguatan Daya Saing Produk Kelautan dan Perikanan (PDSPKP). One of the indicator include export value of fishery products and investment of marine and fishery products.

"The target of export value of fishery products is US$5 billion," said General Director of PDSPKP Nilanto Perbowo.
Nilanto said, the realization of marine and fishery investment until the third quarter of 2017 recorded Rp 4.03 trillion. There is an increase of the total value of the investment around 96.81 percent or Rp 1.23 trillion compared to the third quarter of 2016 this includes the value of investment in the production business which are the catch and the cultivation of fish.
The value of investment in the manufacturing industry also rose by 0.4 percent or Rp 2.29 trillion compared to the third quarter of 2016. From the data, the target of 2018 is set at Rp 6.3 trillion.
It is recorded that Singapore, Philippines, Belgium, China, and Japan became the main country of foreign investment to Indonesia. In total 17 countries are investing, 73.01 percent invested in processing business, 19.74 percent in the field of fishery production business, and 7.25 percent in the field of trade.
