Out of the many types of fish, there are some of the most popular and preferred by most Indonesian. The taste is tasty and the soft texture is often the reason, like some of these following fishes:
1. Red Snapper
The typical Riau Islands sea fish is so popular among seafood lovers. Snapper itself has many types, such as red and white. The price also varies depending on weather conditions and season, usually priced between Rp 60-80 thousand per kilogram.
There are many ways to process snapper, usually processed into sweet sour snapper, yellow seasoned snapper, curry, and so on. This snapper is very good for the body, because it contains high selenium which is useful as an antioxidant to counteract free radicals.
2. Mackerel

4. Salmon

6. Gurami
Gurami is one of the mandatory menus in seafood restaurants. This fish is an economical choice if snapper is considered too expensive. Although it's cheaper, it tastes no less delicious, the meat is solid, tastes good, and is tasty.
Usually Indonesians like to consume it in the form of fried gourami, grilled, sweet and sour, or the like.
7. Wader
Finally, there are this tiny fish that are often found in freshwater waters, such as rivers, ponds and reservoirs. Waders are quite popular in Indonesia, especially Java. Usually waders are consumed by giving a little flour, then frying it.
Fried wader feels crunchy and savory, best eaten with sambal and rice. In fact, some regions make it one of the typical souvenir snacks.
